PRIVACY NOTICE: ECLIPSE GIVEAWAY 2026
Last updated: May 2026
This notice explains how Pura Aventura Ltd collects, uses, and protects personal data in connection with the Eclipse Giveaway 2026 campaign. Please read it carefully before submitting a nomination or confirming your entry. Pura Aventura is registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
1. Who We Are
The data controller for this campaign is:
Company | Pura Aventura Ltd
Registered address | 80 East Street, Brighton, England
Website | pura-aventura.com
ICO registration number | Z9277856
Contact | hola@pura-aventura.com
If you have any questions about how your data is handled, or wish to exercise any of your rights, please contact us at the address above.
2. What Data We Collect
2.1 From Nominators
When you submit a nomination, we collect:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (optional)
- The nominee's first and last name
- The nominee's email address
- Your written explanation of why the nominee might deserve to win
- Your consent preferences (see Section 4)
2.2 From Nominees
When a nominee clicks to confirm their participation, we collect:
- Confirmation that they have chosen to enter the prize draw
- Their email address (already provided by the nominator)
- Their consent preferences regarding future communications (see Section 4)
We do not ask nominees for additional personal data at the point of confirmation. If a nominee wins and accepts the prize, we will collect further details (such as passport information and travel preferences) under a separate notice issued at that time.
3. Why We Collect It and Our Lawful Basis
Purpose | Lawful basis | Applies to
Running the prize draw and selecting winners | Consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) | Nominators and confirmed nominees
Notifying nominees that they have been nominated | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to fulfil the competition mechanic | Nominees (first contact only)
Sending optional campaign updates and future travel communications | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — separate opt-in required | Those who explicitly opt in
Using appreciation text in social media and promotional content | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — separate opt-in required | Nominators who explicitly opt in
4. How Consent Works in This Campaign
4.1 Nominators
By submitting the nomination form, you confirm that you have read this notice and the competition Terms & Conditions. This is a prerequisite of entering, not bundled consent.
Two additional, separately tickable options are presented on the form — both unticked by default:
- i) Whether you consent to Pura Aventura using your appreciation text anonymously in social media or promotional content
- ii) Whether you would like to receive updates about this giveaway and future Pura Aventura travel experiences
You may opt into neither, either, or both. Neither is required to submit a nomination.
4.2 Nominees (First Contact — Article 14 UK GDPR)
When a nominator submits your email address, you will receive a single neutral email informing you that you have been nominated.
This email:
- i) Contains no promotional language, sales copy, or marketing material
- ii) Explains who we are, what the competition is, and what confirming entry means
- iii) Links to this privacy notice
- iv) Gives you a clear choice: confirm entry, or ignore the email and nothing further will happen
You are not entered into the draw until you actively click to confirm. Ignoring the email constitutes a clear choice not to participate, and your data will be deleted within 30 days of the nomination being submitted.
4.3 Nominees (Confirmation)
When you confirm your entry, you are asked separately:
- i) Whether you would like to receive weekly updates about this prize draw
- ii) Whether you would like to hear from Pura Aventura about future travel experiences
Again, both are unticked by default. You may confirm your entry without opting into either.
5. How Long We Keep Your Data
Data | Retention period
Unconfirmed nominee data (nominee did not respond) | Deleted within 30 days of nomination submission.
Nominator and confirmed nominee data (non-winners) | Deleted within 90 days of the winner announcement (06 July 2026), unless marketing consent was given.
Marketing opt-ins | Retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
Winner data (prize fulfilment) | Retained for up to 72 months after the trip for accounting and legal purposes, then deleted.
6. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We may share data with third parties only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers who assist with email delivery, form processing, or data storage — all operating under data processing agreements and bound to use your data only on our instructions
- TourSpain (Spanish Tourist Office), our campaign partner, who may receive aggregated or anonymised campaign statistics only — no individual personal data is shared with TourSpain without your separate, explicit consent
- Airlines or travel suppliers, but only in respect of the winners, and only the data necessary to arrange their prize travel
- Law enforcement or regulatory authorities where we are legally required to do so
No personal data collected through this campaign is transferred outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area without appropriate safeguards in place.
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Right to access — you may request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — you may ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — you may ask us to delete your data, subject to any legal obligations to retain it
- Right to restrict processing — you may ask us to pause processing your data in certain circumstances
- Right to data portability — you may ask for your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object — you may object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hola@pura-aventura.com. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data or your request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
