What's the best way to get to/from this trip?
The simplest way is to fly into and out of Santiago de Chile (SCL).

Will altitude be a problem?
Not in this part of Chile, no, you are at or around sea level.

Do I need to speak Spanish?
No, typically your hosts will speak good English but you should not expect locals to speak any English. You will be very well served to have at least a few words of Spanish under your belt, or tongue, before you go.

What support do I have?
You have the benefit of our extended Pura Aventura family as you travel. Primarily your hosts and guides can help with local advice. We are also always here to help with anything that can't be swiftly fixed locally, including a 24-hour emergency phone contact.

What meals are included?
Each day's meals are listed in the day-by-day for your trip. Generally speaking, we always include breakfasts but other meals only where you don't have other options nearby. On this trip, you therefore have dinner included while staying at Casa Bouchon and Mapuyampay.

Is this trip suitable for solo travellers?
As a private trip, you are not joining a group. As such, this isn't the most obvious choice for a solo traveller. The fixed costs of the vehicle rental are particularly high.

Saying that, if you were happy with the extra investment, the experience would work well for a solo traveller who enjoys being on their own.

Is it suitable for friends?
Absolutely, yes. For two couples, the trip is perfect as it is, using one vehicle. The per person price naturally reduces. For groups over five people, we would look at two vehicles but otherwise should be able to keep things very much the same.

Will I meet the locals?
The focus of this holiday is undoubtedly on exactly that. If you are doing this trip it is because you have a curiosity about the human side of Chile. From the very first day, you will be interacting with our partners on the ground who will help introduce you to both Chile and Chileans.

Can I make changes to this trip?
