You say goodbye to your hosts today and point your car north, heading into the foothills of the Pyrenees.
On the way, we suggest you call it at Lleida, the biggest inland city in Catalonia and home to one of its most impressive historical sites. The photo you see above is the remains of a Middle Age fort of Moorish origin, in the middle of which the Christians built the soaring Seu Vella - a Gothic cathedral begun in 1203.
Back on the road, continue north to your small, stylish hotel just south of the mountains. Before reaching it though, you might stop for a short walk through a bird-rich forest which leads to a splendid viewpoint over the river valley below.
